Local-first by design

Project NOMAD guidance advises against exposing NOMAD directly to the internet. The portable router bundle is focused on local access: nearby devices connect to a local network, then open the appliance in a browser. Loaded content remains available without a required monthly subscription, which makes the setup useful for offsite conditions where there may be no reliable internet at all.

Direct kiosk

Use a monitor, keyboard, and mouse at the box. If kiosk mode does not open automatically, use http://localhost:8080 on the box.

Local network

Connect the box to the same router as your device, then try http://nomad:8080 or http://nomad.local:8080.

Offline hotspot

When no router is available, connect to the NOMAD Wi-Fi network listed on the customer label or quick-start card, then open https://10.9.8.7.
